Common Specifications
- Common base thicknesses usually follow tempered glass ranges such as 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, and selected thicker configurations subject to processor capability.
- For overhead, balustrade, facade, or fall-risk applications, laminated heat soaked tempered glass may be recommended rather than monolithic glass.
- Heat soaking is an added quality assurance process; it reduces risk but does not make glass unbreakable.
- Panel size, edge finish, hole positions, notches, fixing type, wind load, and structural movement must be reviewed before processing.
- Heat soaked glass is often specified for curtain wall areas, exposed facades, shopfront elevations, glass fins, canopies, and premium architectural panels.
